The detailed scope of responsibilities of the CPD includes:

1. Preparation, personalization and distribution of documents for Polish citizens and foreigners.
2. Maintenance of IT systems that ensure the functioning of the Document Personalization System.
3. Transmission of data from the General Electronic Population Register (polish: PESEL) at the request of the authorized entity on pursuant to the art. 46 Section 1 and Section 2 subpara 1 and 3 of the Act on Population Registers (Journal of Laws ,2010 No. 127, item 1427, as amended) and issuing certificates containing copy of processed data in register PESEL, according to the art. 45 Section 2 Act on Population Registers.
